A management review (old name: management review) is intended to assess the effectiveness and suitability of the management system and to improve it where necessary. Within standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 27001, the review is an essential moment for the management to check whether the system is still in line with the strategic direction of the organization. The aim is to ensure that quality and information security objectives are achieved and that the policy is permanently adequate. The review evaluates the performance, risks, opportunities and results of internal audits and corrective actions. In this way, the review provides a structural basis for continuous improvement of processes and compliance with laws and regulations. It also supports decision-making about resources, competencies and strategic priorities.
